Water trails

There’s nothing like paddling down a Northwoods river under a canopy of leaves. Boating

Oneida County is home to some of the most beautiful lakes in the Northwoods. There’s nothing like spending the day on the water. There are endless miles of shoreline to explore and when things heat up, there’s nothing more refreshing than a dip in a cool Oneida County lake.  The county has many great lakes for boating – a few examples include Lake Thompson, the Rainbow Flowage and Lake Tomahawk. Don’t have a boat? No problem – rentals are available.

Beaches

Oneida County has a lot of gorgeous beaches that are perfect places to spend a late summer day. Oneida County’s lakes are clear and calm and many have beautiful stretched of soft sand that are perfect for family fun. In downtown Minocqua, Torpy Park is a popular spot; other beaches to check out include Hodag Park in Rhinelander. Lake Katherine in Hazelhurst and Maple Lake in the Three Lakes area.
