Boating

The crystal clear waters and sandy beaches of Oneida County’s many lakes are a playground for boating and watersports enthusiasts. Power boating, pontoon boating, waterskiing and tubing are popular activities throughout the summer. Numerous boat launches make accessing these many lakes easy, and a number of resorts, rental cabins and lodges are located right on the water.

Many of Oneida County’s lakes are located in the Northern Highland–American Legion State Forests. Many of these lakes are undeveloped and scenic. Other lakes are rimmed with charming cottages and lake homes, with restaurants and resorts providing places to stop and have a drink or a meal. And, large flowages spanning thousands of acres provide the adventurous boater with plenty of room to roam. It’s a wonderful selection of lakes to suit every boater.
