Musky anglers across the Midwest have many options when planning their fishing trips. One of the best is Oneida County, part of a region that contains the fifth-largest concentration of freshwater lakes in the world.
Those lakes are home to some monster musky, too. So where you can you find them?
Boom Lake is probably the best-known lake in the Rhinelander Area, and it’s got every right to be. Boom Lake is a fantastic destination for walleye, smallmouth bass and panfish, but it’s also an outstanding musky lake.
Located in western Oneida County, the Willow Flowage gives musky anglers an alternative option to some of the busier lakes in the area. It’s not a renowned musky destination, but it should be. And the views of this undeveloped region are Northwoods bliss.
Other musky hotspots include Lake Nokomis north of Tomahawk and the cluster of lakes in northern Oneida County.
