Oneida County: A snowmobiler’s paradise

Winter is a snowmobiler’s dream in northern Wisconsin, with frequent snow and typically low temperatures combining to create excellent trail conditions across the northern part of the state.

That’s especially true in Oneida County, where snowmobilers can find more than 1,000 miles of trails to ride. And, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can explore the thousands more miles that stretch into Oneida County’s neighboring counties and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Snowmobile clubs—including the Forest Riders Snowmobile Club in the Minocqua Area, the New-Tom Sno Fleas Snowmobile Club in Lake Tomahawk and the Rhinelander Hodag Sno-Trails Club—groom trails nightly so riders have the best conditions possible. These clubs also provide maps of the county’s trails.
